Here are a few pictures from last weekend exploring the wine region of Franschhoek, and the beautiful garden at Babylonstoren.
Franschhoek is packed with great vineyards, and the city has a wine tram that takes tasters on a hop-on/hop-off ride to a handful of them, many with cheese, chocolate or biltong pairings. Our favorite was probably the small, family-run Eikehof, where they let us taste a yet-to-be available bottle of Semillion, and literally draped Chas in blankets to keep him warm. It’s the little things.
We heard it is a must to visit Babylonstoren, and we were lucky to pop in and snag a table at their greenhouse cafe, which serves food from their farm. They have an incredible garden full of surprises that we’ll definitely be visiting again in summer.
the flowers! the water pool! the mountains! the cool weather!
so happy you are having this wonderful experience.
love you,
