One of our last hikes in Cape Town brought us up the front of Table Mountain to Kloof Corner. We ascended from the last hairpin curve driving up to the lower cable station, and descended via the India Venster trail. It was pretty exciting to be hiking right beneath the cable cars as they went up and down the mountain. The people waved; we waved. No one dropped anything on us, which was good. Continue reading

Holidays in South Africa
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from South Africa!
Despite being away from family, we had a great holiday season in South Africa. It was still strange, though, being in the Southern Hemisphere. We’re used to cold weather this time of year, so it was a little hard to put on Christmas music and feel festive. In the same week, we went surfing and got sunburnt, enjoyed a carol’s concert, swam in the pool and opened Christmas presents. It was confusing. Continue reading
